A podcast with my son
I have been listening to podcasts since early November 2004, the first Australian Podcast I found was G’Day World. Yesterday while driving home I was listening to Accident Hash 175 with my son and CC Chapman made a comment such as “anyone can get into podcasting”. My son looked at me a said “Can they? A new name and a new look
Over the last few weeks I have been thinking a lot about my blog title and how it really does not fit, a similar problem to Heather. What with my change in jobs and being out of all things HR and HRIS from a professional point of view I think it needs a change. BeforeContinue reading “A new name and a new look”
Buying new skis
Even after one of the worse ski seasons on record here in Australia I am considering purchasing some new skis. My current pair were bought in January 2000 on a very cold and snowy day in Ottawa (Canada that is). I have been doing a bit of research and come up with my top 5Continue reading “Buying new skis”

How to manage gaming geeks, or any geek for that matter
Just finished listening to show number 51 from The Cranky Middle Manager Show where Wayne spends time chatting with Matt Manuel from EA who looks after the development of FIFA 2006. A great show with some really interesting ideas covering on-boarding, peer mentoring, and team management. It seems that a number of the manager’s atContinue reading “How to manage gaming geeks, or any geek for that matter”
Restoring my son’s computer
Last weekend I had a bright idea of rebuilding my son’s computer, an old HP Pavilion 6535 we bought while we were in Canada and had shipped back to Australia in 2000. Bad idea! Initially I could not find the HP restore disks. But being a bit of a geek I had an old WindowsContinue reading “Restoring my son’s computer”
