It seems that version V2.5 of the Google Site Maps plugin was causing the issues. Once disabled, Live Writer works as expected. Now trying V3 Beta of Google Site Maps and see if it behaves with Live Writer (or the other way around), hence the multiple posts :-). Update: Yes the v3 Beta does work!

More Testing of Live Writer
As I mentioned I am testing the new Windows Live Writer, but having a couple of issues with posting to my blog. Tod Hilton was nice enough to help out and put me in contact with a couple of the developers Joe Cheng and Mike Munroe. They have had me use a tool called FiddlerContinue reading “More Testing of Live Writer”

One of the cool new tools released this week has been the Windows Live Writer, an offline blogging client from Windows Live and it is not just for Windows Live Spaces. Blogging for fun, profit or …?
Amitai Givertz is lamenting today about his lack of (??) success and how on earth his blog can get noticed out of the 50 million blogs now out there. The Recruiting Animal suggests quite rightly that while the blogosphere is very large, the audience for recruiting blogs is quite small. The end result seems toContinue reading “Blogging for fun, profit or …?”
SPAM, lovely SPAM, wonderful SPAM, not!
I just noticed Joel Cheesman has posted about how to stop Spam on a WordPress blog (for a history on Spam check out the Wikipedia entry). While I would agree that adding entries to you .htaccess file works it is a fairly brutal way of handling spam. I also just noticed Joel has removed trackbacksContinue reading “SPAM, lovely SPAM, wonderful SPAM, not!”

From Del.icio.us to WordPress in one easy step
I am always amazed at the power popular bloggers have and the conversation they create. Back on 16 June 2005 I posted about getting my daily del.icio.us links posting directly to my blog, in an attempt to create a linkblog. I even posted to the WordPress forums about the setting I used and left itContinue reading “From Del.icio.us to WordPress in one easy step”
Careers & Job Channel at Netscape.com
I have just unsubscribed from the Netscape Careers & Jobs Channel RSS feed after a couple of weeks. Why? The content is terrible! When I say terrible I mean really terrible. Over the last week the feed seems to now include many of the top stories from the whole Netscape site. Today the feed includedContinue reading “Careers & Job Channel at Netscape.com”
Over 400 blogs and 500 posts in 24 hours!
We have now broken the 400 blog mark over at community.hrblogs.org, with well over 500 posts in a 24 hour period. Being one who subscribes to the overall RSS feed from the site it is no wonder it is taking me so long to get through my RSS reader! A quick review on the sitesContinue reading “Over 400 blogs and 500 posts in 24 hours!”
