Just back from another windsurfing session about 1.5 hours today in 15-20 knot winds and I got my water starts nailed! Even got the board up to a plane a few times and was brave enough to go out from shore beyond standing depth, cause I can now get home.
Lots of fun, can’t wait until next time! Which due to travel plans will probably not be until 2007!
Congratulations! Waterstarting is a right of passage…one of many in the sport. Have fun (and a sense of humor!)
Here on the other side of the world it’s getting too cold to sail (but sail anyway we do.)

Hey Michael thanks for dropping by! Having been windsurfing on and off for about 15-20 years 99% of the time on a great big board it is really good to now be able to use the short board I bought 5 years ago!
I think I was watching you!! I was there with a few of the Elwood boys- wating for the wind to come up- were you having a lesson with Adrian?
Wow, Small world
Tom
PS I got a new 5.3m and 4.7m and a new harness over Xmas. Lookout waves!
No lesson, probably should of had one. I know the guy you are talking about I was watching him as well. It is a small world!
Multiple sails is a luxury I would like to have but can’t afford, I just have a 6m which works well in most conditions.
6m is a good balance between ease of use and power. Can be a bit tough to water start though, and 18 knots is as much as you’d want early on!!
